It sounds wonderful, but I quit drinking. I'm a bit of a dipsomaniac.
Moderation in anything has never been my strong suit. I can handle
being a pothead, but not a drunk.
Here is a summer recipe from the commune:
Saute some fresh garlic in olive oil in a big frying pan. Cut up a
big handful of fresh basil and throw it on top of the garlic and let
it steam for just a few seconds to wilt it. Remove from heat and let
stand.
Blanch some ripe garden tomatoes, no more than a minute.
Remove skin and seeds and cut up tomato chunks.
Add to olive oil, garlic and basil.
Season with salt.
Stir and allow to stand at room temperature for awhile.
Pour over cooked pasta, the fresh refrigerated stuff if you want to be
fancy, and serve with not too much grated parmesan cheese.
It's a nice dish on a warm summer evening. The idea is to form the
uncooked tomatoes and basil into a simple sauce with no strong herbs
or spices.

Oh, man. That does sound wonderful. I love experimenting with fresh
herbs and vegetables and pasta.

I agree, and I'm a vegetarian so that makes it sound extra good. I
might have my "cook" whip that up.

You do NOT have a cook!! Or are you teasing? If you do,
does he do the DISHES??

Tony's the cook and I'm the cleaner-upper. But...he doesn't usually
feel like cooking after working all day either so we go out several
times a week. But if cooking is done in our house, he's the one that
does it. I'm really bad in the kitchen and I also have no interest in
cooking so that makes for a bad cook. To me, the kitchen is where I
open the cat food cans.

I love to cook! It's like when I used to play with my chemistry
set. I find it very interesting. I rarely use recipes--and the bad
thing about that is, sometimes things turn out really good and I
can't replicate it! I hate cleaning up.
