Most of you know about Kady and her rescue....
she is doing remarkably well :)
even starting to sleep most of the night , YIPEE
Our other kitty Koko has had ongoing problems with what the vet said
probably was the feline herpes thing.......
Today we have another flare up, (of course, its the weekend!)
and I took some pics - this time its more her eye swollen up and
running as compared to the other times of snot nose and choking on
snot... not a nice topic, i know.
How often is too often to have these 'flare-ups'....... this is her
third one in 4 months.
we have been using the llysine for about 6 weeks.... and in that time
has had two times of being sick..
I just want her to feel better......... she is the perfect big sister
to Kady...... they are SO cute to watch together....
pics posted over on alt binaries pictures animals........
thanks for any info..

Do you have any eye ointment on hand?

I don't know if it is herpes or isn't. I'm not sure if there is a test for
it, or if vets diagnose herpes when antibiotics fail to clear up URI
symptoms. Has she been on any antibiotics? Also try bringing her in the
bathroom while you take a shower. It can help clear her nasal passages.
Good luck!

Yeah, glad Kady is doing well! That was such a neat story, and such a
gorgeous kitten.
As for Koko, I wonder if she has something else this time. Our cats have
had URI's a few times, and the vet says it's one of two viruses, one of
them feline herpes. I know it's very common. Our cats did have runny
eyes along with the runny nose, but I never noticed the eyes swollen.
Could your cat have gotten an eye injury?
By the way, our vet also said antibiotics will not help URI's, since
they are viruses. She did give the kittens antibiotics just in case it
tried to turn into an infection, like pneumonia. She gets concerned
about URI's when kittens are involved. We did have antibiotic drops for
their eyes when they got conjunctivitis along with everything else.
Good luck, I hope she's better.
