I had just gotten out of the shower and heard this weird sound, then
what I thought was a huge "wet" belch. I thought my boyfriend was being
gross, so I said "was that you?" and he said no, it was Ernie, that he
just "puked up a log". I couldn't believe that such a gross, loud sound
could be coming from this little cat! And it was indeed a log! Ernie was
so pleased with himself, though. He was purring and prancing and just
chattering away.... :) K

When I got my first cat MANY years ago I had no idea what a hairball was. My
cat started the gagging motion. I thought he had something stuck in his throat.
I tried to heimlick him. I tried to look down his throat to see if I could grab
the obstruction. I was prepared to do CPR if he passed out. Then he puked up
what looked like a big hairy slimey piece of poo. I had no idea what it was so
I called the vet who told me it was just a hairball. I felt pretty silly. Now I
give them  hairball remedy. If I hear the gagging sound now, I rush over with a
piece of paper and kitty pukes on the paper.

Awww.. I bet he felt better.  Shamrock chucked up a big one one time
after eating grass.  He hardly ever vomits from grass anymore so I
think it's helping him stay cleaned out.

I was trying to figure out who was leaving little "puddles" on the floor
and was giving everyone the eye, but no one was doing the pre-lim
hacking/coughing that normally precedes the hairball, so I was kind of
baffled. I just didn't expect one so big! LOL! :)

The last time I saw one that big it was my roommate's cat that gagged
one up. She actually thought her cat had brought a dead rodent upstairs
and was freaking out! LOL!
