Both Phillip and Lyn wrote here that a person should choose a "young,
healthy" cat over one with "handicaps". Phillip went so far as to say a
handicapped cat was a "euthanasia candidate".

Cats just take my breath away for *SO* many reasons, but foremost of them is
their courage, perserverance, and will to survive!
I have a friend who was never a "cat person" until she came over to see my
new kittens (of a pregnant cat I was fostering - and later ended up adopting
along with her kittens ;>). She didn't close my bedroom door behind her and
my cocker spaniel followed us into the room to see what was going on in
there. All five kittens, 4 days old with their eyes still shut, hissed at
the strange monster and swiped at his nose! My friend could not believe
that these tiny, helpless creatures were willing to "get it on" with a dog
20 times their size! Right after that she adopted a cat of her own and has
had one or two ever since. ;>

Nope, not to me either.
