I have emailed this information to Monica, but I had to
pass it on here.

Right after I began the "Adopt this Great Cat" thread
I received an email from a gentleman in San Diego who said he might be
interested in Conan.

After emailing back and forth, we spent over an hour on the telephone
tonight just talking about cats, and Conan in particular.

This guy is a major cat person! He is horrified by declawing, believes in
indoor only, and saw his last cat, whom he nursed through Chronic Renal
Failure until the vet advised him that she might begin to suffer too much,
as a member of the family. He has a nice roomy place, no other pets, and
wants a sociable cat.

It is all in Monica's hands and for all I know Conan may be promised to
someone else--as I explained to this gentleman--but it's good to know there
is someone great out there--and LOCAL so that there would be no traumatic
travel--who wants our big red boy!

Mary, eggggshausted and going to read for a while then conk out. ~~sigh~~
What a great day!

Wow Mary, that's really something.

KULE!

He does sound like a great cat-guy!

I hope Conan is in a wonderful home soon. That was pretty great to read
about him snuggling up already. He's probably a happy cat tonight, out
of that cage.

Paws are crossed for even more happy news for him...

I emailed Monica to let her know and she seemed pleased. Conan
is now in a position where several worthy cat people want him!

I was thinking about that last night. Earlier I had imagined the sights and
sounds of that huge county shelter, and how sad he must have been to
be back there.

Honestly, I cannot see a way that there would be anything
but good news about him now. My last great hope is that
whoever gets him will update us and send some photos
of the happy boy!

I know, it must have been so confusing for him :(  But thankfully this
is having a happy ending! :)

If you will go on a leash and wear one of those plastic cones around your
neck, I can get you there for an overnight stay. You'd fit right in.

This new guy sounds great.  I hope you decide who is best for Conan as
opposed to "promises" made which may on further exploration need to be
reconsidered.  I personally found the "sense of humor" of the other
candidate to be horrifying and was hoping you would find better.

If money is still to be collected you can post a PayPal account a few times
in case any of us miss the post.

Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.
