Oh, I thought your offer to foot the bill for his adoption was still
open. Afterall, it's "all about the cat", isn't it? So what is it?
Will you foot the bill or won't you, if an adoptor is found by someone
here on this ng?

Don't hit Amazon.com just yet. :-)
Mary, I realize I've not contributed much to this thread. I can't
afford, either financially or mentally, to get too emotionally involved
with animals I read about on groups. I do too much of it already IRL.
But you're obviously very emotionally attached to this particular cat.
Just a suggestion, why not take your $200 and try to "sponsor" Conan.
That's assuming it's not too late to establish a good long-distance
rapport with the manager. You can pay all his expenses, and his
adoption costs. That would give him an edge over the kittens--and he's
already a nice, well-behaved and beautiful cat. Maybe he'd be a good
cat for a senior citizen--seniors shouldn't adopt kittens anyway. \
I don't care what anybody says. Money talks. The shelter staff already
wants him adopted. Hopefully, they'll work with you, and they'll
"market" Conan.
The other side of the coin is, somebody is going to say that cats
should not be "free." I waver on that one, too. That's where a lot of
trust is going to have to come in that the shelter is doing right by
Conan and not giving him to the wrong person.
Just a suggestion.
