Please ignore the other heading with no message if it comes through (I

Anyway....

What is the news on Conan? How is he? Has he found a new home? What's
happening?

No word from shelter manager Hector yet so I guess that means he has not yet
been adopted. He will not be "re-evaluated" until June 29 so presumably he
is safe until then. Hector (and Katherine, who is the weekend shelter
manager) knows that I want to be notified when someone is interested so that
I can pay his fee and make a nice donation to the shelter. I will call
Katherine tomorrow to remind her.

Dan from rpca has volunteered to pick Conan up if he is in danger of being
euthanized, or if I find him a local home. But he cannot keep him, even to
foster him. I know two people in the LA area--one is out of the country at
the moment, but a BIG cat person--and the other is a client who I don't know
much about. I am working up the courage to ask the latter if she knows
anyone who might want him, and I have an email out to the former, but I
think she is not online until she is back in the states.

That is where we stand. Nobody else seems to be doing anything to find him a
home and I don't know what else to do.

When I visited Conan on Tuesday, there was NO INDICATION on his cage that
there was an adoption subsidy available for Conan.  Might you ask Hector or
Katherine to put a sign on his cage to that effect?  On that same placard,
you could add a blurb about Conan's favorable disposition and socialization.

I believe she didn't want someone to choose him just because he was
free but because they wanted him and then finding out his adoption was
paid for would be a bonus.

Do *you* know of any no-kill shleters in the area we could get him into
for a nice donation?  You're retired and local, you could make some
calls.  Those shelters love getting hefty donations.

Philip is an idiot. We have already discussed what happens if there
is a "free cat" offered--I reported on Katherine Wilson's conversation
with me the day I had it with her. The point is, as I have said at least
three times, that the person who gets him really wants him and does
not pick him--then throw him away as Philip did--because he was
just a free cat.

We don't need Philip anywhere near Conan. Can you believe he
actually went to see him, after abandoning him? Then walked out.
Miserable a.shole.

Mary ... you manipulating old battleaxe, you *want* me to go readopt Conan.
You protesteth too much.

Hope someday you can afford to get psychotherapy regarding your abandonment
and need for male attention issues.  LOL

I placed a couple of calls.  There are no county funded "no kill" shelters
here ... at all. BUT, there is the Orange County Humane Society in
Huntington Beach (still in OC) who is supposed to be a "no-kill", funded by
volunteers and donations, etc.  714-536-8480.  They are open normal business
hours. The OCHS is about 14 miles from the OC County Shelter.

I'm sorry, I wish I could do something constructive to help but I don't
even know anyone in the LA area.  I know it's hard for you to do
anything being so far away.  Everytime I think of Conan, I feel sick.
I worry about Dan having so much going on with Harri at this time and
then maybe having to pick Conan up, too.  Didn't Dan say at one time
that he would be able to get Conan into a no-kill shelter?  I know he
hasn't had the time to make inquiries probably.  It's all just not
meshing together...

All I can offer is money and prayers.  I'm sure all the other people
who initially offered money will still be good for it.

What can we do, it's all too awful.

Don't worry, Candace, we will find him a home. I just wish we
had more readers/posters in his area. It will work out.

Well Candace, you COULD drive to Orange County (about 400 miles for you, if
in the Phoenix area) and get him yourself.  725 miles round trip... @ 25 mpg
... 29 gallons ... at $2.50 per gallon ... $72. Add in a motel stay for $50
if you are not a "Road Warrior".   How concerned are you?

In case you hadn't noticed, she has a critically ill cat that she can't
leave.
Stop telling people what they should be doing, like you're one to talk.

Get a sitter!  Or pay someone's fuel bill for the "road trip."

Kelly, would you like directions?.   :^D

There is a difference between suggestions and directives, Kelly.

You are unfuckingbelievable.  What a loser!  You expect other people to
clean up your mess, and then you insult them on top of it.

He actually went to see him, saw Conan's relief at seeing him, and turned
and walked away.

Oh I did a MUCH MORE DIABOLICAL THING than turn away.  I spent some time
playing with Conan while the vet tech looked on.

How come you're not out here by now?  Are you still letting your husband
tell you what to do about cat matters?  Huh?  LOL

Once AGAIN! Phillip you feel a need to egg on everyone here.  What's your
problem.  Get the facts right.. you've arsed up... you were selfish and
irresponsible, and no matter how hard you try to turn it around, it makes
you look silly.  Face up to it, be adventurous and try something new, admit
you were more concerned about the dollar and less about Conan... oh wait
Conan has a dollar value attached to him now... got you thinking doesn't it
"geez interesting maybe just maybe if I slowly integrate myself back in some
of that green may splash over onto me"...  keep thinking silly rabbit

Phillip, perhaps a lengthy visit at the nearest psychological institution is
needed for you, because man you have some serious issues going on in your
head.  Let's get a few things straight... 1. you're pathetic; 2. you're not
funny... you may think your snide remarks are humourous but in reality they
are very telling of your personality, 3. you're pathetic.

And after giving much thought to this, I don't believe you ever took Conan
to a vet.  Why do I say this?  Becuase you can't stand being told you're
wrong and having been made a fool of.  And you're letting you're supposed
vet make a fool of you.  Nah with your ego and hunger to always be right and
aiming for one-upmanship, you'd never take the fall alone, yet in your
limitless list of excuses we hear the same one over and over again regarding
the vet, like a broken record.  C'mon little boy, you know damn well if
there was a dollar to be made here, you'd be on it in a second, so why
aren't you dogging the vet more, going after your vet legally for
misdiagnosing Conan... and puleeeze don't tell me that's not how you
operate.  You're a cheap egocentric moron... I'm guessing you ask for change
back from the homeless...  So, the bottom line is I do not believe your vet
story...  you're credibility is nothing here, so why should we believe you
visited Conan at the shelter, and why should we believe anything you say
about Conan's shelter situation....

And yes, I do bring this down to money because it's the only reason you give
for tossing Conan back.  As for how concerned are people, well as I stated
when I first learned of Conan's plight, I will provide monetary
assistance... it is the best I can do as I'm in Canada and have a small
apartment and 4 pets as is,  Others here will also stand by their offers,
not everyone is as self absorbed as you. So, have some decency and stop
writing sh*t like what you wrote above, you of all people have no right to
offer any comments on Conan, especially when they are filled with a mocking
childish tone.

Wow!  Another one who says she wants the truth and when she gets the truth,
cannot handle the truth.  Your man hating fantasy is worthy of institutional
commitment.  What you "think" (and I use the term loosely)(more accurately,
fanaticize) matters not a pinch of cat poop in a snow storm.  LOL   Now
write that check to the Save Conan Fund.  Show to show everyone you really
do care.

Mary, can I send you a Conan related email?  I know you don't like getting
emails from newsgroup people.
Sorry I haven't been able to do much.  Things are a bit crazy here and I had
some situations come up at the shelter.  Cats are coming out of the woodwork
around here.

Somebody might want to call the following organizations and see if they
might be able to take the cat if and when Orange County can't take care
of him anymore - Telling his story and letting them know that financial
support is available might help.

That's great.  I could certainly try to reach a couple of these orgs
tomorrow, would someone else or 2 like to split them up with me?

I don't mind at all getting emails from people I like, KellyH, and you are
one
of them. I don't know who decided I did not like getting emails, but I bet
it was someone I don't like!

Honey, you are so pregnant. I cannot even imagine. Any ideas
