I just plugged the diffuser in, it is getting warm but I assumed since it was
electric that I would hear something.  Does it run quietly?

No, you will not hear (or see) anything from the plug-in diffuser.  However,
it is normal for it to be warm (just as you described).

On mine, I did detect an odor.  I think it was because I put it in a
hallway....sort of closed quarters.

I wish I could smell it. So, does it smell like pheromones? :)

I don't know....what does a pheromone smell like?  It's not a pleasant odor
but it isn't terrible either....I only smell the first week or so when the
diffuser is new.

I detect a faint smell, like an iron, when I first put in a new one, but
that fades.
