And one old one!
http://public.fotki.com/kitkatluna/miscellaneous/jasper_dudley/young-dudley.html

I just posted some new pix of Jasper Dudley Do Right. :-)
The one above, however, is from his youth. DH obtained it from the
daughter of the previous owner and surprised me for my birthday! Not
sure how old he was, but you can DEFINITELY see how his coloring has
changed! :D

p.s. notice the one of DH playing with both Jasper AND Luna! They never
get that close, unless catnip is involved! ;)

Happy belated birfday! Jasper was such a beauty when he was young, too.

His coloring really has changed. I wonder if this is typical of
Siamese, to get darker like this? Jasper has the most
distinctive, handsome face. You know the drill. :)

i.e. kiss him on his flat little wedge-shaped head! If I had
him he would be perpetually annoyed as I would always
be picking him up and kissing him. :)

One day I will have my own Siamese--a rescue of course.
I just think Jasper is so beautiful.

I think it is very typical. Jasper was probably born almost all
white/cream and only had a mask and points. What I wouldn't give to see
a KITTEN pic of him. I found a site that features seal point siamese, so
it gives me the idea. What a crack up he must have been. Heh. And still
is!!!!!

I had no idea siamese were born without their masks. I guess it makes
sense because they are completely warm in the womb.

Our tuxedo-mom gave birth to 3 siamese (and 3 other) kittens last
spring. One was still-born, but the other two were light cream. I just
thought we were going to have cream kittens! Even their noses were pink.

In less than a week, they started getting darker hairs on their ears,
then on their faces, then the noses started to turn darker... You could
have knocked me over with a feather that we had baby siamese.

If I can figure out how to get some pics on the binary group, I'll do that.

my experience is that yes, Siamese do get darker as they get older.
They also get darker in the winter (if they go outside, that is).  The
color point gene is temperature sensitive, so the areas of the cat that
are cooler (the extremities) are dark.  In the winter, an outside cat
is generally cooler all over, so they can darken a shade or so, and
then lighten up again in the summer.

We had a Siamese that also got darker in her later years, probably
because her circulation was slowing down and she was getting "cooler"
all over.
