... do Yoshi and Kimber (now 9 weeks) only play fight and cause a nuisance
when myself or my g/f are around?
Last night they were crazy for over three hours when we had a visitor. They
drove us mad! I know they're only little, but when we go out for a while,
they're always snugged up together sleeping or just lazing around. Within
ten miniutes of being back in the house, they're zooming around and fighting
again!
It's exhausting!

Yup. They like to "show off" just like kids. Mine are the same way (albeit
adults). Kittenhood is fun but exhausting.

J... these are kittens. They play with each other at THEIR level of energy.
Says right in the Owners Manual that they shall play until exhausted or
bored. Are these your first cats?

They love you and are happy.

It is a plot... to drive you bananas. ;)

I think they run themselves wild while alone, too. Ours did. We'd come
home and find lots of things knocked over.
They do get excited when people are around and have energy spurts --
like "oh good, it's playtime!", but ours had them when we were not
there, too. Seems like early mornings were one time I could expect to
see fluffballs bouncing off the walls.
