The ferals are still there!

Brandy Alexandre - 07 Jun 2005 23:41 GMT I was wondering if the ferals at my office were still around after I being gone for so long. I finally saw them late yesterday, all three just sprawled out in the middle of the parking lot like a big car wreck. Then I saw one flick its tail, then the other, then the other, repeat, sort of like, "I'm here... me too... me three..." "I'm still here... so am I... yup, same..."

They do not concern the group.

He's so obsessed with me he will say ANYTHING in response to one of my posts, good, bad or indifferent. This time it appears he forgot "behavior" was part of this group. I thought the behavior was interesting.

I have noticed Joe is always the first to respond to your posts...

You need to do some Google digging.
Brandy has accused me of cyber stalking her, of having multiple online personalities and of being a general pain-in-the-butt for her in several other newsgroups.
Fact is, this group is the ONLY newsgroup we both happen to participate in. If she, or anyone else for that matter, would like to take on the task of proving I have multiple online personalities... have at it.
Waste of time I say.

That's not for us to have to do Joe. The only thing we see here is your behavior. The burden of proving your point rests on your shoulders, no one else's. It's up to you to do the digging and post the google links for us to peruse at our leisure.

But... feel free if you are so inclined. However, your adventures in that area regarding another poster in this newsgroup are WELL documented.

You're not the only one who's noticed. Most on here have too, and there's 100's if not 1000's of eyes focused on Joe and his behavior.

It's really something, eh Justin? Most of us on here are more than a little embarrassed for Joe and his behavior. It's one of those nasty little sides of this group we have to witness.

Yeah, there are a couple of business that feed them. They're all long hair with one tabby, one tortie, and one "Morris." Street smart like you wouldn't believe. I've watched the tortie walk to the curb and look both ways before crossing. Once sitting down and waiting for the traffic then looking again and crossing. She's quite smart (I say she because, well, she's smart ;)

She's quite smart (I say she > because, well, she's smart ;) It would really bother me to have feral or stray cats around where I work, particularly since it sounds as though it's a business/industrial area with a lot of traffic. Fortunately, I don't have that particular problem in my life currently but it makes me feel physically ill to see them like that because then I get obsessed with whether they are going to live or die. How long have they been around? Is there any way you can get some rescue group to help trap them and relocate them to a safer area? It's only a matter of time until they get hit by a car or some person does them harm. Just because it hasn't happened yet and just because you think they watch for traffic does not mean it won't happen sooner or later.
You're a cat lover you say so you should really feel obligated to do something to improve their lot in life. Cats shouldn't have to scrounge around industrial areas to keep alive. Feeding is part of what they need but they need to be neutered and probably relocated. I'm not saying you should give them a home but you should help get them out of that area since you see them every day. It's a crappy life to dodge cars and scrounge food and keep out of everyone's way. It's just an accident of birth that they're on the street.
It may take a lot of phone calls and some diligence on your part but it would be a good summer project.

It's a small side street off a highway feeder road and it dead ends not too far away. There just some one- and two- story office buildings, an assisted living center, and the back side of a storage place on our stretch of road. I do hate the thought of driving to work one day and seeing one of them in the road. They only seem to cross the road because someone on each side feeds them. If one would stop it would certainly cut down the risk.
As I said in another post, they're well fed if nothing else. No scrounging. They've been there as long as we have, which is about a year now. I should ask the architects if they've tried to trap them. They seem to take the most care of them. I actually don't see them every day. If I could see a pattern to where they hang out when it would be easier to plan.

There's a couple (and I do believe they are a couple) of architects who feed them and I've seen sit quietly and patiently trying to get them to approach. The tortie just won't have any of it. I think she's the leader and I suspect they're all siblings. I came outside and she was sitting out of the rain not to far away. She didn't run but she gave me this look like, "You realize I can tear your arm off." I just said, "Okay, I'll walk around," and *I* stepped out into the rain. I've tossed her lunch tidbits just to have her hiss at me. She does eat them when I'm "out of sight."
My boss and I were watching Morris inspect his Yukon from the window and we were caught. So Morris decided to "claim" the vehicle mostly out of spite, I think. I don't see the tabby around that much, which is why I was surprised to see the three of them together... sort of... in that parking lot sending tail-tip signals in order. Why they chose to lay there in 90 degree weather (though overcast and humid) is beyond me.
