Just came back from the supermarket, picked up some clam juice, canned
salmon and mackeral...I passed on the sardines and the anchovies, but
going on the theory that the more something stinks the more likely the
SRF cat is to eat it, I was tempted.
What is the story with these? No good?

Plunk them in the dish! If FA eats them, then good! :)

I've used the clam juice with my CFR kitty. I've mixed it with his food.
The only problem with clam juice is the sodium level so use in moderation.
Another good thing to try is the juice from a can of tuna (water packed is
best) or the juice from a can of chicken (there are low sodium types).
