my VeT gave this to me, author unknown

IF IT BE I GROW OLD AND WEAK
AND PAIN SHOULD WAKE ME FROM MY SLEEP
THEN YOU MUST DO WHAT MUST BE DONE
FOR THIS BATTLE CAN'T BE WON.

YOU WILL BE SAD, i'LL UNDERSTAND DON'T LET YOUR GRIEF THEN STAY YOUR
HAND.
fOR THIS DAY MORE THAN ALL THE REST,
YOUR LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP STAND THE TEST.

WE'VE HAD SO MANY HAPPY YEARS
WHAT IS TO COME WILL HOLD NO FEARS
YOU'LL NOT WANT ME TO SUFFER, SO
WHEN THE TIME COMES, PLEASE LET ME GO

I KNOW IN TIME, YOU TOO WILL SEE,
IT IS A KINDNESS YOU DO ME,
ALTHOUGH MY TAIL IT'S LAST HAS WAVED
FROM PAIN AND SUFFERING, i'VE BEEN SAVED

DO NOT GRIEF THAT IT SHOULD BE YOU
WHO HAS TO DECICIDE THEIS THING TO SO
WE'VE BEEN SO CLOSE, WE TOQ, THESE YEARS,
DON'T LET YOU'RE HEART HOLD ANY TEARS

Thanks for this poem.  I shall pass it on to my family who  on Friday had
to say goodbye to their beloved Bouvier, Dernik.   He was ten years old
and had cancer.    Dernik tried hard, but in the end he faded fast.  Rest
in peace sweet Grand d*g!.  MLB

Well now I am bawling. Where are my cats? I need to kiss them.

Me too, I've been to Suffolk for a long weekend which was wonderful but
I still missed Otis heaps and rang home every day to check my friend
the catsitter was looking after him and not forgetting his shot/tablet.
I got back and he's sulking but will go through the usual routine of
being allowed to sleep with me tonight (just tonight) with his head on
the pillow and his body under the duvet, aah - tomorrow my eyes will
itch and I will sneeze all day but then he will go back to sleep
downstairs again, it's just my way of delaing with the guilt tripping
for leaving him

A very touching poetic expression from the heart.

For everything there is a season.

I'll be damned. That big beautiful tabby boy is
bringing out Philip's Latent Human Being. :)

Time and its passage are the strangest things about life. (Death is
encapsulated in there..) In some ways it makes perfect sense to live in the
moment.

The nature of time means we live in "serial realities" if you
think about it. Because death and other inevitabilities change the context
constantly. Just one very good reason to avoid the common trap of becoming
too set in one's ways?

oo! What is it the singer said, "drag me into shallow waters before I get
too deep!" :)

I assume you've lost a kitty..... my heart goes out to you.
I have lost 3 in the last 4 years (plus a husband)....
Email me anytime.  I know how awful it is.  Now my house is a circus... 2
cats; 2 kittens....but
the loss is devastating...I know all too well.... There IS a Rainbow
Bridge.....Hugs, Carol
