Man charged for tossing kittens from car

LORAIN -- Police from two counties have charged a man who witnesses
say was throwing kittens from his moving car.

Cat's leg damaged by fall

Derrick Wilhelm, 26, faces two counts of cruelty to animals and one
count of abandoning animals from the Erie County Sheriff's Department.

Wilhelm has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals in
Lorain County, as well.

He is a part-time police officer with the Castalia Village Police
Department.

Witnesses tell Lorain Police a man driving from Huron to Lorain was
throwing kittens out his car window.

One surviving kitten damaged nerves in its leg as it braced from the
fall from the car.

I am sure this is only a fraction of what goes on. this guy just got
caught.
