If I shave my Himilayan, who has matts in his fur will it grow back the
same length?

Just curious, why are you asking this question "after the fact?"

Yes, but do you know how thin a cat's skin is? And do you know how much he
is likely to hate that electric shaver? Please consider having a groomer
shave him. We have heard horror stories here about people accidentally
cutting their cats while trying to shave/trim them.

My daughter has her Maine Coons shaved every summer. By winter, the fur
is grown back just like always.
I'm thinking about having my DLH shaved also; she matts badly and her
hair is just too long and fine--when she tries to groom herself she
just makes it worse.
