My cat Ana started throwing up two days ago. Yesterday, I wasn't home much
of the day, but when I came home, she seemed fine. Soon after I gave her
her evening dose of medicine, she threw up twice, clear liquid. This
morning, there was more liquid vomit and she seemed lethargic. Off to the
vet.
Turns out she swallowed a piece of plastic, not sure what it went to yet,
I'll see it tomorrow when I pick her up. It was in her intestine, but did
not puncture it or cause any harm.
I was very worried, thinking of all kinds of worse-case scenarios, but now I
am relieved. Can't wait to bring her home tomorrow!

Scary. You'll be watching her every second from now on, paranoid that
she'll swallow something else. Who would have thought. Boots tries to
eat rubber bands and straight pins. Scares me to death when I sew. The
rubber band off the daily newspaper gets flushed immediately.

How did they get it out -- did they operate?
Hope she's feeling better.

I'll bet she'll be fine, but only because you got her to the vet in
time. That seems to be one of the most common ways for people to lose
their pets.

Kelly, I just saw your update. Glad she's home with you. About the
plastic, last week I had my carpets cleaned complete with furniture
moved. Usually I do the carpet cleaning myself but don't move
furniture. It turned up many kitty toys along with some plastic
rings that all cats love that come from milk jugs. Some were bitten
in half. Milk jug rings can be bitten and chewed and probably
eaten. After this, they'll not be allowed as toys without
supervision.

I saw the object that was taken out of her, and neither I nor my husband
have any idea what it is. It kind of looks like a stopper or end to
something, I don't know. I don't let the cats play with the milk rings
anymore because I heard how they can be eaten.
