Hi. We have a young black cat about 7 months old. Any time you place
her on a soft material like a blanket made of wool, she seems to very
slowly be pushing her front paws into the material. We cannot tell if
she is stretching or exercising or just feeling the material. Has
anyone else seen this or can you figure out what she is doing and why
from the video. (about 2 meg avi file)
She still has her claws and only does this on soft material and will
do this for 2 or 3 minutes at a time.  She has a scratching post which
she uses, but is very aggressive with it, but very slow and delicate
with the wool.
Any info would be appreciated.
(not a problem, just curious)

You might draw some fire for posting that 3 times in a nonbinary
group, Dave.  I don't care, but some people might, including admins at
small servers that carry this group in their feed.

I suggest binary posts in alt.binaries.pictures.animals or
alt.binaries.pictures.misc with a note here to let people know.
Another option is a geocities page.

??  But he only posted a link.  The file didn't automatically download when
one opened his post, which was a normal size of only 2 KB.

My newsreader picked it up. The avi is of the OP's cat kneading.

It did?  Did it somehow automatically download for some people?  Even though
the Subject line says "Avi", all I saw was a normal post, with a link.  Wait
a sec! - I just looked back to the OP, & it wasn't a link, it was just an
e-mail addy.  No attachment or anything.  Maybe Giganews stripped it of the
offending file for me??

He posted it as a binary with an 0/1 section containing his comments
and a 1/1 section containing the binary file, an avi clip of his cat
kneading.

I don't know how Outlook Express handles that stuff.  I am using a
semi-obsolete version of Forte Agent on Easynews, so I have a pretty
complete view of what is getting posted.

Some ISPs will automatically cut binaries out of nonbinary groups.
You may have OE set to filter binaries as well.

I'll bet he posted it twice and didn't get a confirmation message from
Agent (which he is also using, although a newer version), so he posted
it a third time thinking the first two didn't go through.  No biggie
as far as I'm concerned, but there are a lot of whiners out there.

Yes, that would be it.  Giganews will not propagate a binary file to a
non-binary group.
