How many weeks can clumping litter be used before a full change of the
litter in the box is required?

Depends on how many cats use it.  I recommend a maximum of 4-6 weeks.
You can do "mini" clean-ups in the mean time buy wiping down the sides
with a damp paper towel.

Is there a brand you recommend?  We're thinking of switching (gradually,
of course) to clumping, because the clay requires full changing so often.
It's two cats, and two boxes.

I believe that is going to have to take into how many boxes, how large
the boxes, and how many cats? And if you ask 20 people your going to
get 20 answers.

I have 4 cats, 2 boxes(Iknow everyone here says 1 box per cat +1
extra). I scoop each box morning & evenings. Every 2 weeks the boxes
get emptied and washed with disinfectant and then aired to dry.

Occassionally if I feel like they need done sooner - and you can tell
by the look of the litter, then I do it eariler.

I use fresh steps clumping - I love the paw points - my house never
smells of cat - the cats use it and it took me several changes to find
one I felt really took care of odor.

Not everyone.

I have 4 cats and 3 boxes.  One box is extra long due to an extra long
cat.
