After all of the recent threads and incite into FF and their
formula changes, I want to bring up one change that isn't going to
be popular. One thing I used to notice about FF was that they left
out corn and wheat. Well, folks, look at #3 ingredient (not
counting the broth that is of course #1) Wheat gluten. Wheat is
one of the top allergens to our pets and if your cat has already
exhibited allergic reactions to other things, introducing wheat
might not be a good idea.
I'm bummed about this. My cats love the new grilled varieties. But
Shamrock has an allergy history and I'm not sure if its food or
contact or inhaled. Adding wheat to his problems isn't something I
want to do.
So, now what?

Hummm...don't have an answer for you. Will they eat Friskies canned?
I had a similar problem recently when Nutro chnged their Max Cat Adult
formula. I haven't found a suitable alternative - still trying
different things and nothing is as good as the old Nutro was. :/

Switch to one of the FF varieties that does not contain wheat gluten?
Without allergy testing - if such exists for cats - assuming it is
wheat or anything else is a mistake.

It looks like some of the "grill" ones do not have gluten (unless these are
older cans?). I was looking at them today.

Karen, you might be looking at older cans. One thing I'd noticed in
the past when looking for something for Shamrock without the common
allergens is that FF didn't have any form of wheat or corn. In my
cabinet right now I have Grilled turkey, chicken, salmon, beef and
ocean whitefish with tuna. All grilled varieties, and all have wheat
gluton as the 3rd ingredient not counting broth that is first.
