I'm about 5 minutes away from scooping her up and taking her to be spayed
myself and then *swearing* I thought she was a stary and didn't belong to
anyone - *after* she's fixed. I'm sure she hasn't had her innoculations yet
either. It really breaks my heart because she's such a little love but -
always begging for petting and scritches (and it's a pain because I'll give
in but then I have to wash my hands with disinfectant soap for 3 minutes
before I can touch my babies).
Yep, Demi is OK as long as nobody be me and DH are around. But nobody else
can ever see her! ;>
Jessie's our little clown cat. She's 5 years old but plays as hard as Sammy
does at 1.

Good thing she doesn't 'get' photography & the internet. ;-)

That was Demelza (13), too - who just happens to also be a calico!, for the
longest time. Was never still enough long enough to even consider being a
lap cat till she was around 5. She finally slowed down to a normal speed
several years ago.

I don't know about your state, but in mine if a cat comes on my property
with no tag or microchip she's mine -- legally. And if you provide
veterinary care, that would make your case airtight. I'd make a quick call
to your lawyer or local precinct just to play it safe - although it wouldn't
matter to me what they said.
Years ago I would feel 'guilty' about doing something like that - felt bad
for the owner because I know how I'd feel if one of my cats disappeared -
but this isn't about the owners - its about the welfare of the cat and the
feline species as whole.
If you need encouragement - you'll probably be saving her life -- and
preventing the death of the kittens she would have had --- and preventing
the death of the kittens her kittens would have had -- and the kittens of
her kittens' kittens. If you need more, I'll give you plenty of
encouragement! ;-)

No problem! The vet will check her out and test her when you bring her in
to be neutered. Since she's an adult - and your other cats are healthy.
She probably doesn't need vax - other than rabies if its a state law. But I
would hold off the vax for a few weeks to a month after she's neutered.

It must be like having the Mona Lisa - but can't let anyone else see it!

Indoor cats retain their juvenile and kitten behaviors longer - keeps them
young at heart their whole lives!
