I just read the thread of Sep 5 2003: 'Does my cat need a behaviorist? a
psychiatrist?'

Folks, this subject and the replies to it touches on a number of things that
deserve *much* more discussion. The original is already buried with so many
newer posts that I thought it could be revived in this thread. Please, lets
keep the emotions down in this one. OK?

Here are my points:

I agree with IBen Geitner that a normal person *does* get a sickened look on
his/her face if they should witness a cat suckling on a human.

Doesn't the mere suggestion of taking a cat to a behaviorist/psychologist
sound just a bit... abnormal?

How much professional care should a pet cat get when there are so many needy
humans in the world, and so many charities available? And how much
professional care does the average human get over a 13-year period?

Isn't it true that not only cats but their owners have bizarre fetishes?
Consider the local news stories that we see on TV every now about someone
who was found to have a hundred cats living with them in an apartment.
Sometimes it goes beyond normal cat ownership. It's like an orgy.

Probably because this "normal person" knows nothing about cats. Cats
do that when they are weaned too early.

Humans have a choice (contraceptives) of reproducing or not. Cats
don´t.

Depends on what country that human is in.
