I went to the store to pick up some SD Adult Original dry for my cat.  There
was none on the shelf and when I asked the salesclerk about it, she pointed
out the bag of SD Oral Care Adult.  She told me that Adult Original was now
Oral Care Adult.  I had my doubts, but bought the Oral Care, anyway.  I have
since checked Hill's website and find no information to back up her claim.
Could you tell me if the salesclerk was correct, or if perhaps she was just
misguided?

Thanks!

She wanted you to buy today, not tomorrow or at another store. A while back
they did change Feline Growth to Kitten but that name change explained
itself.

God created the cat so man could have the pleasure of petting the tiger

She was mistaken.  You'll notice when you open the bag of Oral Care that the
kibble size is much larger, for example.  The nutrient levels are pretty much
the same so there is no problem there.

Rona,
I have *NO* idea why a salesclerk would say such a thing. It's
simply not correct. Oral Care Adult is similar in nutrient profile,
but produced in a ay to remove plaque and tartar from the teeth.

Thanks.  I think she just thought Oral Care was the same formula as Adult
Maintenance.  I talked to her for some time about different foods and she
seemed quite knowledgeable, which is why it surprised me that she made such
a comment.  Of course, I may have misheard her, as well.

Kitty seems to like it as much as Maintenance, so I may just keep her on it.
She has never had her teeth cleaned (our vet picks tartar (calculus?) off
with his fingernail, and doesn't think she needs a full cleaning yet) so
maybe this will help stave off that cleaning for a few years!
