Here are some pictures of Bandit's wounds as of this morning.  I am just
continually amazed at the recuperative powers of our feline friends.

If you click on each of these pictures you can see the full-sized picture
directly from the camera.  I did this for two reasons - first you can see
how well the wounds have healed in only two weeks, and second you can see
how *beautifully* tipped she is.  Especially on her back where the hair is
shaved you can see how each hair starts at the root as brown then darkens to
almost black and even has some yellow spots - gorgeous!

Oh, she looks wonderful! that belly wound will be invisible soon.
I really love the last two, she looks so contented and happy. In
the last one she is smiling! It looks like she will be just fine.

Yeah, as long as she's on Mommy's bed and getting Mommy's attention, she's
happy!

I'm so glad we're over the worst of this - for a while there I thought I
might lose her and I just can't face that yet.  I'm hoping she'll be the
first cat to live to be 50!

I hope so too. This whole burn thing has been just terrible
for both of you.

Bandit's story is one I am sure I'll never forget.  Another one I'll not
forget is the kitty who lost its leg to cancer.  However, I have forgotten
the name  -- old age is the pits.  Anybody remember that one?   MLB

Me too. I will never, ever allow a vet who uses any sort
of heating pads near my cats. Many thanks to Catnipped
for sharing her story here.

Well, I think it was the *type* of heating pad that was the problem (the
rice-filled that are heated in the microwave).  They, and other vets,
haven't seen any problems with the warm water circulating blankets.
However, on one site I've seen about this, the consensus is that warm air
blowers are the best of all to use.

I'm sorry this had to happen to *my* baby, but I was glad to post about it
so that someone else's baby might not have to suffer the same or worse.

I do understand that but I am still not taking any chances!

I don't blame you - it's going to be the first question I ask of a vet
before they do *ANY* treatment!

She's gorgeous, but you can certainly see the devil in her eyes. :)

Thank you!  I think she's the second most beautiful cat I've ever seen, and
she's first in my heart.

Here's the most beautiful cat I've ever seen:

bad nobody ever gets to she her where she hides under my bed!  ;>

She also looks like she forgives everyone involved, in those last
two pics. What a lovely girl.

LOL, not hardly!  Just let that vet or vet tech get within 50 feet if her
and she'll show them just how much better she feels now!!!  ;>  I'm still
getting "Nipped" more than usual, for sure!

Thanks.  Me too.  Believe me, pictures just don't do them justice (the flash
always either washes them out or causes the irises to change color).  It
just saddens me to she them getting all spotty because it shows her age.  My
girl is getting up there in years now and I don't even want to think about
that (I'm secretly hoping she'll be the first cat to live to be 50!!)

Thanks!  All the good thoughts and well wishes she's had from people all
over the world has, I believe, helped a lot (if not her physically, then
certainly me mentally!).
