hi, I own -or should I say they owned  me-
2 healthy around 10 years old kats.
Been feeding them Science Diet dry food.
My question is which science diet product would be best for them. I have
them on the hairball control but they are gaining weight.
Was on the science diet web site N reading various new products they
have come out with
I need one that can control the hairballs N weight plus tailor for
senior citizens Thank You

SD makes a Light food, also a Hairball Control Light, & a Senior.  My cats
are mixed, disparate ages - 11 & 4, & the 4 yr. old could stand to lose a
pound or two, whereas the 11 year old is a LH & is prone to hairballs.  So I
use a combo of these foods - 2 bowls to pick from at each feeding.  Granted,
the 4 yr. old doesn't always choose the Light, & the 11 yr. old doesn't
always choose the Senior or Hairball formula, but...

If you really need to control their weight, you need to measure out the
recommended (maybe by vet, Vs. amouint stated on the bag) daily amount
precisely - although it may be divided up into 2 or 3 feedings.  A late cat
of mine who was medium framed & way too chubby at 13? pounds, slowly lost 4
pounds over the course of a few years, feeding her SD Light at the rate of ?
cup per day.
