Two cats on the bed...at the same time. (!!??!!)

Wow. Luna is *not* the biggest fan of JasperDud. She mostly runs away
from him and when he gets too close or appears to be walking toward her,
she hisses, snarls, spits and swats before she runs FAST the other
direction.

Once in a while, she will go up and sniff him or walk by without the
dramatic crap.

But mostly...hissy fits.

So, I just went to look for them to see where they were hanging. And
this is what I found.

This is landmark if you ask me. Luna OPTING to hang out on the SAME bed,
just INCHES away from a sprawled out and sleeping Jasper.

I love my cats.

Excellent!  :-)

Demelza was petrified of Herrie when I adopted him at the end of the summer
of '99.  Despite an incredibly slow (months) & careful intro.  It took a
couple of years to get anywhere near normalcy - like could eat in the same
room.  There was also a landmark here the other day: Demelza actually licked
the top/back of Herrie's head for a few seconds!

I found my two this way--but on the couch--last week. Yours are faster.
It took mine three years to choose to hang out together! Luna has a
sweet face.

That's like my Bartleby and NewCat.  NewCat is convinced Bartleby is her
mortal enemy, and she flees whenever he looks in her direction.  But, they
sleep inches apart on the bed.  I don't get it!!

It took my two females almost 18 months before they would stay in the same
room with each other.  Now they will tolerate each other on the bed and on
rare occasion I will actually find them cuddled up sleeping together.

Much to my surprise, Sugar actually jumped up on the couch last night and
laid down even though Pearl was already there. Only abou 9 inches separated
them, but Pearl, though giving an evil eye, behaved and Sugar, though kind
of huddled on the edge and not looking particularly relaxed, stayed there
several minutes. I was most proud of them.

Karen, that is so sweet! Unfortunately it seems that something has
to upset their dynamics to see that. They feel the loss of Grant,
probably, :(

Oh yeah. It's very different. I know it has forced a big change in their
dynamic. FOr the better, which is good, but still sad. You know what is
bittersweet is just now, Sugar jumped from one tree to the other and she
looked just like Grant (body movement wise - not her usual style of jump). I
just expected to her the big THUNK his 14 lbs made and mrrp that always
escaped when he was jumping. *sigh*

The opposite happened here after Debbie's death.  Debbie was sort of the
"middleman" of the 3 cats.  She & Demelza were friends, & Debbie - although
she wasn't exactly in love w/ Herrie, at least wasn't as petrified of him,
nor as highly paranoid about him, as Demelza was.  A few days before Debbie
died, she was vegging on the sofa, & Herrie kept her company that evening,
sitting next to her.

After Debbie's death, the "link" between the cats was gone, & for a couple
of weeks I never saw both Demelza & Herrie on the same floor of the house at
the same time.  My guess is that it was due to Demelza making sure that she
was never anywhere near Herrie, although I can't be sure of that (re: which
cat changed floors, as soon as s/he realized the other cat was on that
floor).  Eventually that resolved itself...

You know what is

Yeah...  Almost 4 year later, once in a while I'll see Herrie out of the
corner of my eye - just a black portion of him, & think "Debbie" - except of
course it's just my mind playing around w/ me.

I totally understand. Bonnie looks almost exactly like Shadow, only
a bit smaller. But now that she's "fluffy", she reminds me so much
of him. When she runs from Shamrock in fear, it is EXACTLY like
him. The way she waits to eat and scarfs up dry food is just like
him, too. She is almost Shadow incarnate. I guess there is a reason
I used to call her "Baby Shadow" when she was a small feral eating
from the food bowl outside.

So would I!  KLUNK! ;-)

You know this is odd because Squeekers (male) & Mushkins (female) which are
1/2 brother & sister always are cuddled up together in the cat bed or where
ever else they choose.  It's rare to find one without the other.  It's when
Mushkins & Spot get together that it's a rare moment.  And Squeekers & Spot
hardly ever cuddle at all.

Actually, if I found them together cuddling, first I'd faint, then I'd
wake up and have a party! That would just be amazing!

LOL. Never.

Yeah, same here... Herrie would happily cuddle up next to Demelza, I think;
but Demelza would be of a _completely_ different mind.  However, compared to
5 years ago - or even 2? - 3, it's Utopia around here, re: their
relationship.
