Found a lump on the right rear side of my 5yo cat (Betsy). It is in front
of her hip area. She is acting/playing normal... no weight loss. She has
an appt with the vet for next Tuesday evening.... how worried should I be?
I *am* very....

...btw... aside from hating to be handled, it doesn't appear to be causing
her any pain when I touch it.

You'll have to wait for the appointment. It could be just a fatty cyst, but
it's good to check it out right away. Keep us posted!

Hi Linda,
I take every lump seriously although most turn out to be nothing more than
cysts. Make sure your vet takes a look at it and maybe even a tissue sample
or FNA for examination - just to play it safe.
What's Betsy's titer... if she even has one?
Good luck.
Phil.

Hi Phil,
She was last tested in April, when it was 1:16 (at diagnosis 3 1/2 years
ago it was 1:4096) ... she is due for a 6-month check in about 6 weeks.

Of course you are going to be worried under the circumstance.
It may be "nothing", but you were very right
to take her in. Even "playing/acting normal/no weight loss"
can be cancer. You never take the chance.
Good luck.
