Good news on Ana (PSS cat)

I took my foster cat Ana in for a bile acids test to check her liver
function last week.  Got the results today.  The fasting level was 0.6, and
the post prandial (after eating) was 1.5.  The vet said these were great
numbers, and she sees no reason why Ana would not have a normal lifespan.
Her diet and medication are working!  I'm not doing anything real special
for diet, just adult light food dry and canned.
Now I just hope someone out there will want to adopt her!

Good news!

I just have to comment that I'm glad I now finally know what post prandial
meant.  For some reason I got a mental image of "post shrimp-eating" (I
guess in my mind prandial = prawn), which sounds like it wasn't *too* far off
=P

Yay, Ana!

What about the person who was previously interested in her?  Is that
still an option?

Glad she's back to normal. :)

No, she adopted another cat from the shelter.  The deciding factor turned
out not to be Ana's health, but the other cat was dog-experienced and she
has three dogs.

Me too!  If I didn't already have 6 cats, I would adopt her in a second.

Well done ANA - and KELLY !!!

You clearly got ANA early enough that your interventions had a very
good positive effect on her health and prevented any further damage.

She has not had any recent seizures?

It's good to hear news like this where a kitten or cat is dealt a
dodgy hand by nature but still manages to come out on top - with a bit
of help from the cat rescue community!!!

Nope, not since the initial seizures back in September.

Even though I had to fight some less optimistic people at our rescue, I'm
glad that she ended up there.  Had she been in a municipal shelter, she
would have been put down right away.  She's a lucky kitty!
