I'm new to this board and need a "support system" to help me deal with
issues with my kitty.  Elvis is 13 years old.  I found him when he was
about 1 yr old. In January, I noticed he had swelling on the right side of
his face. Took him to vet...to make a short story, I took him to an
Oncologist in Auburn, AL and he was diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma.
He is now on his 8 radiation treatment and has been on chemo for a week.
They said it hasn't gotten any bigger, but it isn't any smaller either.
He's eating great and has actually gained a few oz. I'm curious if anyone
has heard of a new procedure involving the use of a laser light for this
carcinoma. His carcinoma is on his face and the dr didn't feel he would
benefit from the surgery as the radiation would slow the healing process
down. They would end up removing his eye and top right jaw. I would LOVE to
hear something positive.  Thanks for your time!

I remember reading something about that procedure on the internet about a
year ago. There is a vet school (I'm thinking in the midwest ... Kansas
area? that seems to have some specialists on it. I did a quick google. You
might find some leads from these:
