My 4 month old kitten is not very well, my vet prescribed Strongid T for
him to get rid of roundworm.  He has had his dose and is acting very ill,
he had 1/2 c.c. what can I expect, what is happening to him?

If he is vomiting and/or has diarreah, could be a side effect. If you live
in an area with a 24 hour clinic, you can always phone and inquire.

I imagine it's possible that the roundworms got him sick to his tummy
and he'll seem a little sick until they come out dead on the other
end. Did he have a fat belly? Did he vomit up something that looked
like a few little rubber bands? When there is a "hatching" the belly
can fill up very quickly, and kitty feels very sick. The Strongid
will kill them. If all of the above are true, be sure to get another
dose in two weeks to kill the next generation (the first doesn't kill
eggs).

thank you very much, I think that explains it.

Just want to add one thing.  Make sure he is pooping normally.  If he had a
really bad case of worms, they could cause a blockage.  Normally though,
after a dose of Strongid, the worms will come out from one end or the other.
It's gross, but just tell yourself  "it's a good thing".  Like Cheryl said,
he will probably need another dose in about two weeks.  Our shelter does one
dose once a week for three weeks, just to be on the safe side.
