Sam cat is 14 and she has hyperthyroidism plus she's supper picky eater
I've tried several things that were suggested in this book I have on
older cats, microwave moist food for 10 seconds & use salt free chix
broth on dry food. Both worked well for awhile, no longer work. I
have tried melting butter over food, using bacon grease on it, she will
eat if I mix in tuna fish with her food, but then I worry she's not
getting enough nutritents
I see Eukanuba has a Nutritional Stress/Weight gain forumla...only sold
at Vet's office and my vet doesn't carry it
any other suggestions for weight gain cat food?

Kitten food or Prescription Diet a/d -- a/d is a little lower in phosphorus,
but kitten food is higher in protein.

thank you so much many great suggestions.
AOL doesn't do newsgroups anymore, so I do it through google, however
they have adds on the right hand side & posts on top of that making
difficult to read
again, thanks

When Maynard was down on weight, I was giving him extra treats and a
lot of chicken. I would give him the darker meat (more fat), and use
the white meat on my salads.
Later, I discovered that he really liked the Costco food, and I could
keep him eating more on his own. He doesn't have hyperthyroidism
though.
Also, I would recommend the Royal Canin Foods. They have a mature food
for 10-15 year olds and a senior for 15+.

You could possibly try Double-Cream, either by itself or mixed into
her cat food. If your puss likes slices of turkey, chicken or ham you
can dip the meat into the cream. This gives body-building protein and
weight gaining fat in a few good mouthfuls.
