Well, it's been a bit over a month sincy Mingy was hospitalized
amd found to have struvite crystals.  Since then, I have been
trying to get him to eat wet food, and I have not been too
successful.  In fact, I have been close to despair about that and
his not eating much in general since then.  (The day before
yesterday, I even gave him a bowl of his old kibbles to see
whether he would eat a reasonable amount, but he didn't.)  But I
have persevered, in part, because he really seems to like the
Wellness Chicken.  Last week, someone suggested Merrick, and I
looked at that again (the flavors seem so human-oriented!) and
bought some cans of the nonseafoody varieties.  It seemed like a
better texture for Mingy.  I offered him a bit of it and he walked
away.  But since then I have been mixing some into the Wellness
and adding some water too to make it easier for him to lap up.
Last night he ate his usual too-small amount, but then he went
back and ate some more a little while later.  This morning he
seemed to be begging for some food, so I just gave him a larger
amount of this combo, which he is attacking eagerly.  I just hope
he can begin to consume enough of it so he will get most of his
calories from wet food.
