my cat sometimes has a shitlog that sticks to her a.s and she scoots
across the kitchen floor, leaving a big brown skidmark.

If I'm lucky I'll catch her in the act and shove it back in her a.s with
a pencil.

My 9-month old female often suffers from the same problem.  Actually, I
suffer, and then she does when I clean her up.

Her "poo" does tend to be on the soft side, but I'm not sure if it's
that, or if she's lacking muscle tone?

What do you feed her?
mgarza - 28 Feb 2005 19:35 GMT
She's currently on Purina One for Kittens.  I started her with Science
Diet (loose stool, some gas), switched to Iams (loose stool, WHOLE
LOTTA gas), and now this.

She's always had rather loose stool, which the vet put down to "kitten
stomach."  We did the usual stool tests, of course.

Karen - 28 Feb 2005 20:00 GMT
Hmm. Wet or dry? Sometimes the grains in dry food cause problems. Wellness
has a canned kitten food and they don't have grains. When you make a switch,
do so gradually.  SHe might be a wet food cat.

I spent the weekend putting up curtains (got tired of those ugly
blinds).. if I catch one of my cats climbing them I'm going to tie it's
hind legs together for 24 hours...

My cats were all babies when I moved here. There's a big bay window that I
had to put one large curtain over. They thought I hung that just for them.
But I had squirt guns...

I wish it was just one large curtain... I had to use 8 full panels - 48 x
115 each.. and I only needed them 88 inches long so I had to hem em up
(thank God for iron-ons lol).. but of course after I had spent all that
friggen money on these curtains, I found that the existing setup wouldn't
support them so I had to remove both prior curtain rails (they had
installed one over the other before deciding to move to blinds), paint,
and then put up my own rods...

Next time I'm leaving the friggen blinds

You could try adding psyillium to kitty's canned food (or unflavored
metamucil, but plain psyillium is cheaper).  Psyillium binds liquids
into a goop, and helps create more firm poops (it's also great as an
anti-hairball remedy).  I had two cats suffering from Crohn's disease
for 13 years and if I didn't put psyillium into their food, they would
have horrible diarhea and gas.  Start small....say 1/4 teaspoon in a
3oz. can, and see if it helps.  Good luck!
