Hi,

My cat has a 1.5 cm lump in her liver, just brought her in for blood tests
to see if her blood coagulates enough or a biopsy. My feeling is that it is
cancerous...One question is, since it's in the liver it's inoperable..is
radiation an option? Would this work? I guess it would be $$$$$

But moving on...thanks so much for posting about Nutri-Cal..Kitty does look
much better, I've been using it yesterday and today. Put it in her mouth
and she licks and enjoys it.

She still follows me into kitchen for food, but when I put it down she
sniffs and rejects it..She did eat her food yesterday.

Will Nutri-Cal affect her appetite for normal food..or is it just a good
supplement.

thanks

Try as hard as you can to get her daily caloric requirement into her - which
is at least 40 kcals/kg (20 kcals/lb).  This usually requires several small
feedings a day.

You should ask your vet about Nutri-Cal - its a high density dietary
supplement in gel form - comes in a tube like a hairball remedy.  Nutri-Cal
contains about 25 kcal/6 grams (1 tsp) which will help help her meet her
daily caloric requirement since she's not eating enough.  Some cats lick it
right out of the tube, but you may have to smear some on her paw or lower
belly where she'll can lick it off.  You can also buy Nutri-Cal online
probably for a lot less than from your vet.  Here's a link:

Who said the tumor was inoperable?  About 75% of a cat's liver can be
resected without any significant liver dysfunction.  The feline liver
regenerates very rapidly.

Would this work? I guess it would be $$$$$

Nutri-Cat has turned around many gravely ill cats!

Its easy for a cat to get hooked on Nutri-Cal, so once she's eating 2 or 3
teaspoons, try putting some in her food.  If you're feeding her canned food,
put a little dab of the food on her nose (not near her nostrils).  The smell
will satiate her olfactory system, and when she licks it off, that will
satiate her gustatory system so she won't be put off by her regular food
with the Nutri-Cal mixed in.

Good luck,

Phil
