As regular readers know, I am learning to use a digital camera. I'd like
everyone's opinons on the best place to
display pet photos online.

I'm currently trying two. The first is Yahoo:

http://photos.yahoo.com/crazyaboutfelines

The second is Webshots, which seems to be more
user friendly:

If you have any opinions on which is easier
to view, or know of a better photo hosting web service, let me know. Thanks!

Did you email her ISP?  Come on.. if you did
it..it will save
all the other people the trouble... the ones she
blamed... that
also didn't do it.

I am a fan of the site I use for all of my photos. www.fotki.com
They have a free service with limited space or a premium service with
unlimited storage space for about $30 per year. I went with premium
service after I used up all of my allotted free space the first day I
joined. :)

anywhere you can see pics of our kitties is good by me though! :)

I think I'd go with webshots, because you seem to have more power over your
photo's size. Last time I tried Yahoo, the size of my photos was too small,
yeah, I know, they only have so much space to give away, but still.

Pbase is another, although they tend to be used more by "photography" types
than "snapshooter" types (though both types use them).

I have a cat photo, which I took just today:

That is what I like about it too.

Well, Webshots is also giving it away. I think the yahoo size restriction is
way too small

Ah, Ruby is so sweet looking. How old is she and how did you get her?

Ad in the paper. She is probably the most well-behaved of the 3 we have,
too.

Try www.picturetrail.com.  They have a free introductory period, then it's
something like $19.95 per year (we wouldn't want to make that $20.00, of
course!   ;>))  It's well worth the price.

MaryL, do you have a picturetrail site I can look at?

Of course she does you slurper. You've commented many times on her
photos of Duffy and Holly. Do keep up please.

(oops, first send didn't post as a reply.  resending)

FWIW, MaximumPC mag has a Head2Head on online photo services:  Ofoto.com
(which is Kodak) got the best score for free and something called
Smugmug.com was the best for paid services - $29.95/year.

Haven't looked at either, I have my own website, but hope this helps.

Just to make this post sorta ontopic, Meep's very own webpages are at:

Your page is gorgeous, but I have a feeling I can't get that
effect with a free photo hosting sight! Thanks.

Thank you!  It's so hard to get decent photos of a black cat, which is
why in 8 years of companionship I've only managed two pages of decent
pictures :)

You should check out smugmug, I was quite impressed with the albums,
once I found them.

FYI, it's not really that hard to do your own.  I pay $9.95 per month
for 1GB space on webmasters.com, and I'm self-taught as far as building
pages go.  FrontPage is probably a good start if you're new to building
your own - it has templates to start you off.  I prefer Dreamweaver as
it's less buggy (I use FP 2003 at work, and DW MX at home).

There are also tons of free and shareware album-building apps available.

I'll stop now as I'm now seriously off-topic :)
