We have a 9 month old Siberian Forrest Cat, and have recently noticed small
scabby areas. They seem to clear up, and reappear on different parts of his
body. It does not look like ringworm, in that there is no fur loss, and they
go away in a matter of days. He seems fine, eats, plays, sleeps, etc.
Any suggestions?

Nope (ringworm was my first guess, but...). If they keep appearing, you
can always a have a vet check them out. If the vet can't tell exactly what
they are on a visual inspection, s/he could do a scrape & culture them, I
suppose, to figure out what's going on.

Flea dermatisis? Allergy? My friend's Persian (came from the shelter, she
didn't buy him) kept getting little scabs all over his body. It was a
mystery even to the vet. She switched litter from cheap clay to scoopable,
and the condition cleared up.

Kelly, I wish it was that easy with Shamrock. I just had to take him
to get another Depo shot tonight. :(
To Greg, I hope it is something simple, but maybe its seasonal, or
its dry in your house? One of my cats would get a dry dermatitis-like
thing only in the late winter. It seemed to be connected to fan-
forced heat because as soon as the heat wasn't on all the time, it
would clear up. Until the next year.
Good luck!

Every time I read about a cat getting a depo shot, I do a double-take.
In my book, depo injections are once-every-12-week birth control shots!

One of my past cats (Tasha, my gorgeous blue tabby Maine Coon) got them from
flea dermatitis.

Have you consulted your vet?
