Tabbies typically have the "M" making on their forehead, for example, which Jake has. And they sometimes have a "bull's eye" pattern on their sides. Cathy > > Oh, Justin! Jake is a great name. The little boots are extra! Jake ought to have an "M" between his eyes, most tabbies do. Cute, cute boy! Probably just another inherited color pattern - have no idea if it's dominant or recessive. Tiger and Stinky look nothing alike, and neither really looks like your Jake either. Henry was a shorthair when we acquired him (about ~1 yr old), but he now has a coat that requires almost daily brushing. I wonder how much coat-length has to do with genes, and how much has to do with environment? BLink
