Hodge doesn't, and he's normally a fighter. Cats vary in reaction like
people do. He's an assertive, dominant cat, and being picked up (in any
way) seems to make him go passive.
That said, I don't like cats picked up like that and have done it only
in self-defense (with Hodge).
Personally, I think that commercial is bad because it was "creative"
people trying to be too cutesy. Has nothing to do with the product.

The ad was aimed at people who feel they've gotten a bum deal on their credit
reports. Just off the top of my head, maybe someone who ended up in trouble
because their spouse ran off and left them with lots of debt. The idea is,
we'll listen to your side of the story rather than just assuming you're a bad
risk.
