My cats intestines (or what looks like it) are coming out of his anus. At
first it was a small red looking ball, which is now the size of a golfball -
and that was just two days. I have been looking all over for information on
what this might be, and I need to know ASAP because my parents are taking
him to the vet tomorrow and possibly putting him to sleep!!!!! I need to
save my cat, please help if you know what this may be. Please!!!!!!!

Sounds like a prolapse of some sort:

If there's any saving to be done, the vet'll be doing it...
Steve.

The vet should be able to counsel you on the options - one of which, I hope,
will help the cat. Perhaps your parents are just uninformed that this may be a
fixable problem. Let us know.

Hey, that was a compliment. You have a bit of a rep around here
yourself. :)
You on meds?
I'm high on life, dimwit. People like you amuse me to no
end--and that helps.

If it is a prolapse it is very fixable. I would have had the cat in sooner,
but if that is what it is, it is something that your parents should
understand can be worked with.

Sounds just like a prolapsed rectum (Old people and gays usually get them),
not pleasant to look at but simple for a vet to fix. :)

It sounds like rectal prolapse. He needs to get to a vet. There is a blockage
in his intestinal system which is causing him to strain and push out his
rectum. He'll need surgery to unblock and sew the rectum back in.

My kitten had the same thing a couple of months ago. Scared the hell
out of me at first, but it was just a prolapsed rectum. The vet did
some stitching to hold the rectum in and let it heal. She's fine now.
She never seemed to notice it at all.
There's no reason to euthanize because of this. It's very fixable.

Hope Kristy will give us an update. I'm worried about this cat.

sorry, I havent responded. Thanks for your advice. It did help point out
the problem, however, he did have to be put to sleep. The vet said she had
never seen one that bad before - the prolapse was a rectal prolapse - in
two days it had grown as big as a baseball. She said the chances of him
recovering after the surgery were minimal and unfortunately, euthanizing
him was most humane in his case. I am terribly heartbroken and will miss
him greatly.
RIP Marley

Somehow I missed the part describing a golf-ball sized prolapse. That
would have worried me alot too. Poor kitty.
