I did my cat in the bathroom, with the door closed. That way if she bolted,
she wouldn't go far. Fortunately, I never did have a bolting problem with her.

On the trip she was fairly okay with eating (not a lot, but she
ate), but she wouldn't drink. She's addicted to her PetMate, I
think, and didn't want still water. Since it had been a few days
with very little intake, I decided to try sub-q on her again last
night. I actually got 50cc in her and it was much easier this time.
I put a pillow in my lap and had her brush. She loves to brush her
face and she was very distratced for the duration. Since it wasn't
a "need" issue, I didn't make her do the whole thing, but I think by
the time she really requires the sub-q, we can do without a hitch.
Never fear! If I can, I think anyone can.

I've also used this ploy, but while at the vet's.

This is what I told others when I learned to give sub-Q's to my CRF cat,
too. Hey, if I could do it, anyone can. ;-)
