I haven't been posting, or reading much, and am dreadfully behind. I'm not even
going to try to catch up, so appropriate purrs to everyone.
Our household is a mess. My DH learned of an old aquaintenance who had fallen
into dire straits because of a layoff, a bad car accident and diabetes and lost
their home. He invited them to stay with us until they get on their feet, with
their two little dogs and it has been an awful adjustment for everybody. I
don't know them very well at all really, it was someone DH worked with years
ago. The cats are very angry. *Someone* pooped in the bathtub last night
(unheard of in this house) so I gather that was the ultimate protest. My son is
now driving a truck and Bosley, the big yellow cat, was staying alone for days
at a time. He got a bad abscess and I had to take him to the vet, then I felt
sorry for him being alone in the house so much and brought him out here. So we
have two extra humans, two extra dogs, and one extra cat. Bosley does not "play
well with others" though.
So we'd put any extra purrs to good use around here. Oh. I nearly forgot. One
of the little dogs is pregnant and about to have puppies any day. Sigh.

Oh my gosh, Sherry! It's very kind of you to take these people in, but I
will send MEGA purrs that they find someplace of their own somehow SOON.
Poor Bosley. I think I would begin talking to son about possibly a new home.
It's just not fair to Bos or you. I really, really hope that things get
better SOON.

I agree.  Sometimes these kinds of guests get too comfy and don't know
when to leave, so be sure to make sure there's a time limit on your
generosity.

Eek. I didn't intend to post this on this group! :-)
Thanks Karen. My son is working with a trainer right now, and as soon as he's
in his own truck, he's going to see how Boz fares as a swamper. He loves riding
in the car, never have to put him in a carrier, so he might actually like it.
He's leash trained also. The company he works for allows pets. If it doesn't
work out, Boz will probably have to find a new home. Which will be difficult
with his personality. He got a little better while he was here, he stopped
hissing at me, but the moment he smells or hears the other cats on the other
side of the door he just wiggs out.

Oh, man, Sherry, this sounds like a lot to deal with. Your husband sounds
like a wonderful man, but also like he counts on your help an awful lot.
You'll
get through this ... and then, man, is he going to owe you a big favor! :)

Wow, I'm sorry, it sounds horrible.  I guess I'll quit complaining
about  Marbles still needing to be separated from my other 2 cats most
of the time.
