I finally took my own advice and decided to get some Feliway diffusers.
Antonio was being a brat and kept bothering Mia, the drama queen. This
caused NewCat to get upset, as she hates it when there is chaos, so she was
hiding. Bartleby was also being his usual crazy self. So, I ordered the
Feliway.
I got two diffusers, one upstairs, one downstairs. Had them in for a couple
days. My husband noted that the cats were too mellow. They have just been
laying around, none of the usual craziness. Tonight at canned food time,
which is normally a time of great activity, the cats calmly walked over to
the feeding station. We thought, this is too calm, so we unplugged the
downstairs unit.

Wow. I've never noticed THAT big of a change!

It could be that two diffusers was overkill for our house. It's only about
1000 sq ft, both floors combined. Also could be that the cats are getting
the winter blahs. Poor things... the snow is so high on the deck, that they
can't see over it at the sliding glass door.

I wish I would see that result! I only notice a difference when the
Feliway runs out. I keep 2 diffusers upstairs almost all the time.
Sometimes one runs out before I can get refills, and that's ok.
When they both run out, look out.
Shamrock is being a total sh.t to Bonnie again lately. It could be
because the kittens have fulltime run of the house now that
everyone is well again. He takes out his emotions on her.

I got a diffuser when I was trying to get Oscar to accept Eros. It had no
perceptible impact.

My cats are both scardy cats. They run off when I have visitors loathe going
to the vet - the . So when I saw some Feliway at the vet's just before
Christmas, having read about it on these groups, I bought some. My parents
came to stay with me for a week in the new year. I asked if they'd mind if I
sprayed some Feliway on their shoes - they were happy to oblige. The cats
were still uptight at first, but they didn't go outside and stay there.
Instead, they came back inside and started sniffing around my parents. Tahi
constantly went and sniffed Dad's feet, then sat there quite happily.
Apparently when I was at work one day, he even jumped up on Dad's lap for a
pat.
The stuff definitely works!

I think someone here on the NG mentioned that the spray worked for them, but
they didn't think the diffuser did ...

I tried the spray on the carrier when I had to take Tiger to the vet
back in June. No effect at all!
