Our female cat Tabs, is currently being treated for ringworm, including
antibiotics and local shampooing.
The patches she has aren't typical going by the pix I can find on the web, and
what he vet says.
I just wondered if anyone else has had a ringwormy cat with these symptoms.
Initially, the lesion appears as a little lumpy scab around the size of a pea,
after a bit, this gets scratched or knocked off leaving a sore eczema like
patch, which spreads to the size of a little fingernail if left untreated.
Sometimes the patch will move with new fur growing back where it's been, but
cutting new ground, not getting bigger, but tracking sideways as it were.
The main feature seems to be "scabbiness" - one patch is nearly cured, with new
fur growing in from the edges, and a little scab in the centre.
What other things might this be? Ringworm *might* be a secondary infection.
She currently has three small patches - one nearly cured, one on its way to
curing, and one relatively new little sore patch.
TIA,
Jim

Thanks Betsy -
It's a good thing to consider, I found quite a bit about it, including this :-
http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_eosinophilic_granuloma.html
the plaque type is a little like, but our cat's thing is clearly not at all
itchy, which seems to be usual.
Next time we see the vet, I'll ask...
