I spilled some Comet on the table today, and Mico came around and started
licking it!  He got just a small bit.  That won't cause major damage - would
it??

Thanks in advance,

I'd call the vet to see what they say.

I did call, and he said Mico might experience a bit of a case of the 'runs',
and maybe vomiting.  Thanks for the suggestion.

In this case I would definately make sure the cat gets plenty of water.

My cat likes bleach, comet also.  I keep
it away from her,  I'm sure if it enough
is ingested it could cause problems,
possibly lethal.

Mine likes the smell of bleach, too.  And, oddly, talcum powder.  Oh,
and Body Shop cocoa butter body butter.

I would take the comet away from her and not allow this to continue.
Industrial soap such as comet contains some harmful stuff in it. I would
keep an eye on your cat for a little while and make sure he gets plenty of
water and if you are compelled, contact your vet and see what they say.

Sorry Ruby, but I have no other advice than th call your vet.

But this does bring to mind a little song we used to sind in grade school:

Comet
It makes your teeth turn green
Comet
It tastes like gasoline
Comet
It makes you vomit
So buy some comet
And vomit
today....

Sick, I know, but hey, we were only 6 or so.... ;)

Wow! There's a blast from the past, By Gum! Well, slap my haddock, I
SWEAR I was there when this one was penned:

Stranded. Stranded on the toilet bowl.
What do you do when you're stranded on the toilet bowl?
You act like a man, and wipe it with your hand
And eat it like a man
When you're stranded on the toilet bowl

sorry....

The last word of any stanza is the first word of the next.

So ...
the steamboat went to hell
I'll kick in your behind
And broke his little @$$
Zipping up their flies

It's just a childish way of getting away with saying things you normally
wouldn't be allowed to say =P

<takes a bow>

I read the thread, didn't recall the rest of the song, and wandered off to do
actual work stuff.  Then, while filling up my coffee cup in the break area, I
realized the lyrics were playing in the back of my head.  Lyrics I hadn't
heard in something like 20 years.  Well, i'd already deleted Mary's post.

[technical boring stuff warning]

I run a local newsgroup server called leafnode, so I went to /var/spool/news
and grepped around for messages with the word "nine" in them.  From there I
snagged the message ID and retrieved Mary's post so that I could follow up to
it.

[/end technical boring stuff]

I do think the results are well worth the effort, though.  *snicker*

Probably not, because the amount was small.  Comet has bleaching
powder in it, which definitely is not good to eat.
