Three abandoned  kittens in my backyard around one of my
storehouses---they look to be about two weeks old (?).

I started hand feeding them the other day using PetAg KMR milk in a
nursing bottle with a queen's nipple; also, I feed them a little beef
baby food.

I just realized that one of the kittens has a heavy infestation of
worms--definitely not tape worms. (Also, two of them have crusty
formations around the eyes, closing one. And they have fleas.  Overall
I'd say these kittens are a little unhealthy and certainly
undernourished.)

These worms are about 1/3 of an inch in length, white, round, fat, and
tapering to a small black head.  They are all about the same length &
size and are very active.  I pressed both around the anus and penis area
and the worms started oozing out; I was able, with a pair of tweezers,
to remove about 10.  Are these roundworms?

I keep these poor kittens outside under a porch--in a box with plenty of
fresh paper. I don't want them indoors at all--I have four healthy
indoor cats, and I can't risk giving them a disease.

I would appreciate your opinion.

The good thing about all of this is that the little kittens love me for
feeding them; I'm their second mother!  Poor things--I feel sorry for
them, but I'm afraid their future looks a little dim.  I guess I'll turn
them over to the SPCA or the Humane Society in the next day or two.  A
veterinarian?  No.  I spend enough money as it is on my indoor cats.

I would turn them over to a no kill shelter. They need to see a vet.

I am surprised that anyone stupid enough to go to the trouble to
announce to a group of cat lovers that they refuse to help these sick
kittens has the &%*$ing sense to turn on a computer.

They need a vet, you selfish, tightwad idiot. Worms can kill tiny
kittens in a heartbeat. Since you are such as you are, find a rescue
group in your area that will take them. I guarantee there are people a
lot more loving and giving than you in your area. I imagine you would
rather take them to "the pound" where they will be killed. You are
about on par with the folks who would put them in a bag and drown them
in my book. Although that might not be quite fair--even those people
wouldn't enjoy seeing them suffer. How the hell do you squeeze worms
out of a tiny kitten and not have the heart to take them to the vet?

If they didn't have the black head, I'd say tapeworms. Could also be maggots
but they generally have light brown heads. They need a vet asap. Take them to a
no-kill shelter if you can't afford it. Maybe they can give it medical care and
you can continue to foster them or they can find someone else. Thanks for
trying to help them.

Is there no charitable vetinary organisation in the US similar to the PDSA
in the UK? None at all? Always makes me sad when people post to this group
concerned that they cannot afford vetinary care strays and their pets.
