For those of you with IBD cats, did your cat have an endoscopy? Does it
show whether or not it is IBD or intestinal lymphoma? Would you say it's
worth the cost?

No. I followed the vet's advice which was: we'll treat him as if it's IBD,
then, if there's no improvement, we look at more invasive testing/treatment.
We treated him as if it were IBD, he immediately improved dramatically. No
need for any further investigation.

Absolutely. Cats with IBD and lymphoma can exhibit almost identical clinical
signs,
The purpose of endoscopy is not only to definitively diagnose IBD, but more
importantly to catch intestinal lymphoma in the early stages of the disease
when its most responsive to treatment. Cats with intestinal lymphoma can
survive (and thrive!) for many months to years if the diagnosis is
established and chemotherapy is begun early enough.

Thanks. This is a shelter cat in question, currently in foster. I have
been lobbying for the endoscopy, but need to justify the cost. She is
seeing another vet tomorrow for a second opinion.
