Just wondering how your cat is. Is she still at the vet's? I hope she's
feeling better.

Hi Kelly,
Thank you for checking in about Bella! Yes, she's still at the vet,
unfortunately, but she's doing better. I've been to visit her everyday and
the improvement I noticed today was wonderful! I brought in her favorite
fleece blanket and my wool sweater so she's comfy - she was very happy about
that!!!! I miss her desperately though. :(
Her fever jumped up to 106.5 yesterday morning. They gave her prednisone
which is controlling the temp (it's back to normal today!). Her white blood
cell count is down to 33,000 (still a ways to go before it's in the normal
range) but they mentioned her red blood cell count had come down a tiny bit.
They weren't surprised by this considering everything, and they are keeping
a close eye on it. Hopefully it will go back up very soon. I'm a little
worried about it.
I'm hoping to take her home tomorrow providing the temp is still down. I'll
need to bring her back on Monday for a follow-up. The vet mentioned I may
need to keep her on the prednisone for a couple months... until the sutures
have dissolved and she's healed completely.
I just really hope this is all over with soon. I want my baby back home and
healthy.

Poor Bella! It's very unusual to have such bad complications after a spay.
I'm glad she's feeling better and I hope you can take her home. Keep us
posted!
