Give your cat their medication BEFORE vacuuming! I decided to vacuum this
morning and now I can't find Ana anywhere, and I need to give her her
medicine. I know she didn't escape the house, she just hiding. I did see
her pre-vacuuming.

LOL I have a few of the nutro natural choice foil packets of wet food
for just such an occasion. shake a packet, all kitties come running no
matter whatI was just doing.
I have to take the advantage vials out of the foil packaging a day or
two ahead of when I want to dose them, the second they hear that,
they're gone ;-)
Charlotte and the kitties.

Same with Jewel's ear drops. I had to draw them up in the syringe
(much easier to give than from the bottle) right next to the sink
while running the water really hard so she couldn't hear me doing it.

LOL, mine have the same reaction... but they generally will come out if I
leave the vacume out when I'm done. They come snif it all over, very curious
about the thing making all the scary noise.

My lil kitten Scarlett uses the vaccum as a scratching post. lol It's
the kind with a fabric sleeve that holds the bag. I thought once she
associated it with that loud noise it would cure her of it. But, as
long as its quiet, and its where she can find it, its a scratching
post.

<G> Good luck with that! I have Rhett ducking me when its med time,
now, too. I have to give him Flagyl (its a liquid form; never seen it
in liquid) and he foams up something awful from it. Can't blame him.

Flagyl in liquid form? Poor kitty! Our shelter vet dispenses it in these
chicken flavored chewable tablets. The cats don't seem to mind it too much.
My husband had to take Flagyl a while back, it was these big white pills.
He was like, now I know why the cats hate it so much!

Yeah, liquid. I sort of know why now. The other vet prescribed some
for Scarlett after her seizure episode when it looked like she also
had diarrhea. The pill form had to be cut into 1/8 of a pill dose.
Makes sense since Shadow who used to take it for maintenance with
his IBD, took 1/2 pill doses, and he was easily 5x their size.
Thanks for the tips about the chix flavored tabs. I'll ask for that
if there is a next time! The liquid must be compounded, but why
they don't flavor it is beyond me. It has to be refrigerated. .1 ML
per dose. It isn't helping yet so I'm going to call and see if it
can be increased.
