What is it with cats and sheets?

Every single cat I've known loves to start frolicing when someone is
making the bed.

I figure that if anything they would be afraid of something so much
bigger than they are moving around, but they seem to think it is prey.

My Gnarly loved to get under the top sheet when I flapped it
to straighten it out and then she wanted me to play "Get the Cat"
with my hand. She then became this snarling, growling, Tasmanian
Devil lump as she bit me through the sheet. She thought it was
funny and I thought it was so hilarious I invited people in to watch
it. She was not the brightest bulb in the pack but she was
truly buckets of fun.

Oh!  Playing "sheet bubbles" is the highlight of making the bed.  It
take about 30 minutes to put the sheets on and it's a blast.

Well, would you?

It's true!  My cat goes nuts when I put clean sheets on the bed.  In
fact, I just bought a new set of sheets recently, and for some reason,
she really likes them.  They are 100% cotton and heavier than any I've
had before, and for some reason, she is more aggressive with the new
sheets.  Since her "helping" has reached such a fevered pitch lately,
I've resorted to making the bed while she's outside so I don't have to
deal with the madness!  Maybe when summer returns and she can go out
and bite a tree and I can make the bed in peace!
