My childhood kitty is having a dental today. Berries is 17.5 and lives
130 miles away with my parents, so I'm sitting here, frustrated that
I'm so far away. About 2.5 years ago, she had a cleaning and a couple
of teeth removed. This fall, the vet discovered that a few more teeth
were bad, so after being cleared with bloodwork, she's back for round
two.

I don't know how many more teeth they will remove, and I know it's for
the best, but I can't help but worry for her. She's such a sweetie.
She's one of those cats who really touches your heart. Here's a pic of
her (from a year ago):

I'll be visiting her on Thursday, since I'm going to my parents for the
holidays. Please think good thoughts and send purrrrrs her way!
TIA,
Rene

Thinking of you and Berries.  I know how you feel.  I felt terrible having 2
teeth pulled from my 14 year old Sapphire.  For me it was a real ordeal.
She came home that night and was very woozy from anesthetic but the next day
was back to normal!  Of course it's for the best.

Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.

Yes, you're right Barb. She'll feel so much better without those
painful teeth. She (and one of my parents' dogs) will stay the night at
the vets, so I won't know much more until tomorrow.

Lots of purrs and good wishes from me and my cats!
Fortunately cats do well without their teeth, partially or completely,
since they normally don't chew their food but just cuts it up in bits.

Lots of good wishes to Berries. She's so brave. I'm a coward when it comes
to dentists!

I called my parents last night--and no news is good news! She comes
home this afternoon.  I'l be curious to find out how many teeth she
lost. Thanks for everyone's kind messages. They sure helped me
yesterday.
