Thanks to Janet for suggesting to another poster that he try putting a
blanket on his lap to entice his cat -- this has been working like a charm
with Rosalie. I don't know if she likes the fleece (well, I know she likes
fleece! who wouldn't??) or if it just seems like a more solid surface, but
she sees the blanket, and up she hops!

Thanks for the good report Catherine! Robie was a funny cat - a big orange
guy. When we settled in to watch TV in the evenings, he's stand on the arm of
the sofa, practically tapping his paw, waiting for me to get his blanket on my
lap.
I agree - who doesn't like fleece?

If you want a cat to sit on your lap, just ignore it and try to read the
newspaper. Puss will jump up and get in the way of the sport section!
